SERVICE MODEL

The SSVP volunteers reach out to the poor and needy families in the localities surrounding them. Once a needy family is identified or referred, a team of volunteers will visit the family and assess the ground situation. Based on the verified need of the poor family, the volunteers formulate an immediate assistance plan to address their exigencies as well as a long term plan with the objective of transforming the beneficiary family a self-reliant one. In this process SSVP does not give cash directly to the beneficiaries; instead their identified needs are serviced by paying the expenses directly to the respective service providers like schools and colleges (for educational needs), to the hospitals (for health care needs) to the shops (for provisions) etc. SSVP provides monthly ration kits for those identified for sustenance support, occupational tools like sewing machines, push carts, etc. to help those in search of means to earn their livelihood, provide support devices like wheelchairs, prosthetics, etc to the physically challenged, construct/help repair houses of those who became homeless on account of natural calamities and sponsor marriage expenses of the girls whose parents cannot afford it. The volunteers make themselves available to help reach the poor to the hospitals in their own vehicles in health emergencies and to ferry those poor patients who need routine hospital visits for dialysis, radiation therapy, etc.
